History

In 2003, a group of Professors from three different Departments (Law, Economy, and Geography) of the University of Oviedo decided to come together and to establish a multidisciplinary academic collaboration. They all shared the common objective of fostering an adequate (and more sustainable) use and development of the land and the territory. Since then, the GTDS members work collectively to foster multidisciplinary research, innovative methodologies and knowledge transfer activities in the field of Sustainable Urban Territories.

Until 2011, the headquarters of the GTDS were linked to the University Extension Classroom "Casa de La Buelga". Nowadays, the GTDS is integrated into the Public Law Department of the University of Oviedo.
